Physics of ultracold dipolar gases

Abstract :      

The experimental successes in making ultracold dipolar atomic and molecular gases have stimulated tremendous
interest in studying the dipolar effects in quantum gases. The long-range and anisotropic nature of the dipole-dipole
interaction gives rise to a rich variety of quantum phases. In this talk, I will present some theoretical results on the
ground states and dynamics of ultracold dipolar Bose and Fermi gases.
