Raman scattering in Fe-based superconductors

Raman scattering has become a basic technique in both fundamental research and industrial applications. I will make a brief introduction to technical aspects of Raman scattering and then focus on Raman scattering results obtained in Fe-based superconducting system. Iron-based superconducting layered compounds have the second highest transition temperature after cuprate superconductors. Their discovery is a milestone in the history of high-temperature superconductivity and will have profound implications for high temperature superconducting mechanism as well as industrial applications. Raman scattering has been extensively applied to correlated electron systems including the new superconductors due to its unique ability to probe multiple primary excitations and their coupling. I will give a brief summary of the existing Raman experiments in the iron-based materials and their implications for pairing mechanism in particular. And I will also address some open issues from the experiments.

张清明教授简介:

张清明教授,1988年至1992年在南京大学物理系晶体物理专业本科学习,1992年至1997年在南京大学物理系攻读凝聚态物理专业博士研究生。1997年8月毕业后在南京大学物理系和固体微结构国家重点实验室工作,2004年晋升教授。2000年至2002年初,获得德国洪堡基金资助在德国Walther-Meissner低温研究所从事超导研究。2005年7月任中国人民大学兼职教授,参与筹建中国人民大学物理系。

研究兴趣主要在强关联电子系统,特别是非常规超导体研究,以及低维量子磁组挫体系和低维电子材料的研究。主要实验手段采用拉曼散射技术,发展并设计建造了低温强磁场下拉曼散射系统。已发表专业研究论文50余篇。
