Description:

This course is the physics basis of current and future information electronics. It focuses on the fundamental principles of semiconductor physics, an overview of semiconductor technology, and physical principles of semiconductor devices. The second half of the lectures covers the latest development in the past decades, including the growth technique of molecular beam epitaxy, low-dimensional devices and effects, in particular quantum Hall effect and topological quantum computation.
